SMB dominates at 37%. Source: MMG N°30 — annual breakdown
Read: the sector generated GNF 45,382bn (~USD 5.2bn) in revenue and paid GNF 4,426.7bn in mining taxes in 2025 — excluding customs duties (GNF 416.9bn), community development contributions (GNF 147.9bn) and the payroll (GNF 1,582.9bn, of which 887.7bn paid to Guinean employees).

03 The gaps, explained

Crossing official data (MMG, EITI) with the market (IndexMundi) reveals gaps. We document them, we date them — and we explain them.

  • Gold: SMD sells at USD 706/oz while the average reaches USD 2,905.80/oz. A price gap that questions revenue control — exactly the kind of gap EITI reconciliation helps investigate. See the gold page →
  • Bauxite: ~USD 5.4bn of exported value (175.45 Mt × USD 30.72/t), ~USD 508m in mining taxes. Where does the value go? The MMG's official reference price brings operators closer to international markets — detailed calculation on the Prices page. See the prices page →
  • CBG listed as 'N/A (convention)'. Its old establishment agreement places it outside the 2025 mining tax regime — a documented case, not a rumour. See the taxes page →
Rigor: every gap is dated, sourced and labelled 'official' or 'estimate'. No invented figures.

07 The billion that Guinea must not lose

The sovereign fund, in figures

The topic of our most-watched video (10,000+ views) now has its own page: USD 1bn announced capital (Reuters, 12/11/2025), Simandou revenues projected by the FARI model (USD 850m/yr before 2035), Botswana and Angola precedents — every figure dated and sourced.

'The billion that Guinea must not lose' is also the title of the most-watched episode of the 'Guinée en Données' channel — editorial analysis distinct from this site's verified data. The channel remains accessible at the bottom of every page.

08 Data freshness — our commitment

  • Official (~4-month lag): Mining and Quarrying Statistics Bulletin from the Ministry of Mines, published on itie-guinee.org (N°30 = 2025, online April 2026).
  • Reference (2-year lag): EITI reconciliation reports — used to verify gaps, not to track the news.
